CDL Chiropractic Clinic, PC
Welcome How would you describe the difference between chiropractic and other kinds of medicine with which people are probably more familiar?

Chiropractic works with releasing the nervous system by releasing the joints and the surrounding soft tissues in order for your nervous system to do what it's supposed to do. The point of adjustments is to treat the nervous system with joints and bones being the venue of access.

What is the difference between non-force and traditional adjusting styles?

A traditional, or diversified, adjusting style is where you hear the bones release, that popping or cracking sound. Some people like that and some people don't.

A non-force adjustment would be use SOT blocks that allow the body's weight and the breathing to help to get the joints to move. I'll use an activator for people who either have so much muscle or muscle guarding that traditional adjusment might be uncomfortable for the patient.

What kinds of interactions do you have with other alternative care providers like acupuncturists or naturopaths?

I think we're all in it together. I like having a team approach. I'm a bit of a specialist in what I do and how I do it. There are a number of clients for whom I'm just one of a group of care providers they've got. They might have two or three chiropractors or other practitioners that they work with, depending on what's going on at the time.

How much current do you use in frequency specific microcurrent treatments?

It's in the realm of microamps. The exact amount of current depends on the client. If I'm working with someone who is physically small, you run a little less current. If I'm working on an elite athlete, then you use a little more current because there's more mass behind it.

Is frequency specific microcurrent a treatment used by itself or in addition to chiropractic adjustment?

I can just do the microcurrent on them, but I don't think it's a service to the patient because we've just released old patterns. Now we have to reset those joints and muscles. You need to make sure that your body is adapting to the new patterns. If the body resumes old patterns, the tightness may come back.
